Digitizing Artwork - Paintings Scanned

We specialize in fully colour calibrated reproductions of original paintings. We can digitize paintings up to 5 feet x 7 feet at over 300 pixels per inch. You will receive a colour-matched reference print (about 8.5" x 11") on fine art paper, and 3 digital files: a full resolution .tif at about 125% larger than the original painting at 300 pixels per inch (ppi); a high resolution .jpg at the same size of the original at 300 ppi; and a low resolution .jpg at about 8 to 10 inches in size at 300 ppi.

An example of the cost: 18" x 24" original costs 62.60 plus taxes. A 24" x 36" would be 83.60 plus taxes. Contact us for a precise quote. We need to keep the original painting for a few days to make sure we get an accurate colour match.

Printing Reproductions on Canvas and Fine Art Papers

We can print a reproduction of your painting on archival cotton rag papers (smooth matte or watercolour textured paper), and on canvas. Our printers use archival, pigmented inks that have a very long life before objectionable fading occurs. Independent tests show that these inks and papers will have a life of 150 to 200 years with no signs of fading. Canvas prints are sprayed with an acrylic clear coat to protect the surface.

Matte or textured fine art papers cost $0.10 per square inch. Canvas is $0.11 per square inch. Make sure your calculation includes the extra border or extra canvas for stretching over a stretcher frame will require.

An 18" x 24" canvas stretched over a ¾" deep stretcher frame costs 140.28 plus taxes. If you choose a 1.5" deep stretcher frame the cost is 177.48 plus taxes. Hanging hardware is included.

Reproductions on paper can be ready in as little as a day. Canvas prints require a few days.
